In this episode we look at Coming unto Christ. How it is God Himself in His tender Mercy and ever abounding Grace that takes the initiative and brings us unto Christ His Son. Since it is God The Father Who does this by the work of The Holy Spirit, it is therefore a miracle of God. This is what God alone can do. Man could not, cannot, nor can ever do this. It is impossible with man, but not with God: for with God, all things are possible. We also see how God brings a heart and soul from beginning to end unto Christ Himself. From causing the soul to be able to respond and receive The Salvation that God offers to every soul, to causing the heart to come unto God’s very own knowledge of His Son. The Salvation that God offers is The very Person of Christ His Son. Once the soul has been brought unto Christ (the moment of New Birth), The Holy Spirit continues the same work, but now it is preparing the ground of the heart to now “bring” the heart in knowledge unto The Knowledge of God. From the knowledge of man, unto the knowledge of God. At the moment of New Birth, the soul has been brought in reality unto The Person of Christ, this is because Christ Himself is present in the soul. Now, the heart must continue to come in knowledge. First reality, then the knowledge of reality. In essence, the heart of the Born Again believer is ever coming (in knowledge) unto Christ, unto Whom God has already brought the soul in reality (once and for all) at the moment of New Birth. This is the work of The Holy Spirit. The heart is coming in knowledge unto The Reality which the soul has already been brought at the moment of New Birth. Once again, this is the miracle of God. Our Bible texts are: John 6:44 (AV) 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him… Genesis 28:16-19 (AV) 16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not. 17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. 18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. 19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. The Divine Premise for Biblical Interpretation In this episode we look at The Divine Premise for Biblical Interpretation. The majority of scholars, if not all, agree that Biblical interpretation is dependent upon the context of the passage in which it is found. With the Divine Premise we see that the context of the totality of the scriptures is Christ Himself. Man, being self focused, can not consider anything other than himself. We do this even when reading the scriptures of the Bible. We always see ourselves as the object. Except God (in His Mercy and ever abounding Grace) take the initiative and direct our heart unto Christ His Son, we will continue to consider how the scriptures apply to us, and how we can apply the scriptures to our daily natural life. In effect, we completely disregard and redefine the purpose for which the scriptures were given. Our main text is John 5:39-40 where Jesus Himself clearly states that the scriptures are the testimony of He Himself. Not only are the scriptures the testimony of Jesus Christ (Jn 5:39), but the very testimony of the scriptures is designed to bring the heart, the soul, unto Christ Himself (Jn 5:40). John 5:39-40 (AV) 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. Once again, it is only God Himself (by His Holy Spirit) that can draw the attention of the heart of Man (Believer, or nonBeliever) and direct it away from self unto Christ His Son. Man cannot do this, it is a miracle of God. This is the miracle of God in the heart and soul of Man: drawing the attention of the heart, and bringing the heart unto Christ His Son. In this episode we will be looking at The Great Transition of The Heart. This transition must take place in the heart of every Born Again believer. This is the heart coming from being submitted unto ignorance to being submitted unto The Knowledge of God. It is: the heart coming in God’s Knowledge (by the work of The Holy Spirit) unto where the soul has been brought in reality (by God Himself) at the moment of New Birth. The soul has been brought unto God Himself (by God Himself) at the moment of New Birth (Exodus 19:1-4). Our main text is Joshua 5:1-9 where there is a “second” circumcision taking place in the children of Israel. This circumcision is initiated and ordered of The LORD Himself. Here is seen the testimony of the cutting away of ignorance from the heart. First there is Reality (the Red Sea), then there is “The Knowledge” of Reality (the crossing of Jordan). First there is New Birth, then the knowledge of the New Birth. We will also be looking at the means by which such a transition takes place in the heart. This is seen in Joshua 3:1-4. For both Reality and The Knowledge of Reality to take place, there necessitates a miracle (the ability of God). For with man it is impossible, but not with God. For with God, all things are possible. In this episode we will be looking at the difference of all having one voice (declaring the same thing), or declaring The Voice of ONE (declaring the mind of The Lord). Our text is 1Kings Chapter 22 where we see an example of this with Ahab (King of Israel), Jehoshaphat (King of Judah), about four hundred prophets, and the Prophet Micaiah. We will also see in this passage the means by which we come from all having one voice and declaring the same thing, to declaring The Voice of ONE.
